Item Detail - States
Use the States tab to indicate the Tax rate for States with active sales tax codes and flag if Farmer, Church or Logger Tax exemptions will apply to an item. Indicate if the item is considered a Restricted Chemical and requires a chemical license for purchase. See Access Tax Codes for additional information on tax codes. See Access Categories for information on setting an Item Category as Restricted Chemical.
- Select to mark the Item as a Restricted Chemical in all States.
- Remove the Restricted Chemical designation from the Item for all States.
State- Two digit State abbreviation.
Tax Rate- Select the appropriate tax rate for this item from the drop down menu. The available list populates from selections made for the state in Access Tax Codes. The options available will vary by state for example the option to select biodiesel rate is available for Illinois and Food and Energy Fuel in Kansas.
Farmer Tax Exempt- Select Farmer Tax Exempt if this Item should not be assessed Sales Tax for this State when purchased by Customers with valid Farmer Tax Exempt IDs.
The state of California offers customers set as Farmer Exempt a reduced tax rate on the purchase of agricultural tools and equipment if set in the Farmer State Rate on the Tax Code. See Access Tax Codes for details.
Food- Applicable to locations in Kansas. See Access Tax Codes for creating the tax rate for food items.
Church Tax Exempt- Select Church Tax Exempt if this Item should not be assessed Sales Tax for this State when purchased by Customers with valid Church Tax Exempt IDs.
Logger Tax Exempt- Select Logger Tax Exempt if this Item should not be assessed Sales Tax for this State when purchased by Customers with valid Logger Tax Exempt IDs.
Select Restricted Chemical to indicate a valid Restricted Chemical license is required to purchase this item. See Access Categories to set an Item Category as Restricted Chemical.
Select the Certification Required checkbox to indicate a certificate is required for the sale of restricted chemicals in Mississippi.
To prevent a tax override in Orders and Batches for the item, select the Restrict Tax Override checkbox.
